Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Page Capture Chrome extension (“Page Capture”, “the extension”, “we”, or “us”) handles information.

1. Information handled locally

Captured images, webpage URLs and titles associated with captures, editing data, capture history, language preferences, capture settings, and the daily Pro trial counter are processed and stored locally on the user’s device. Captured images and webpage content are not uploaded to our servers. Capture history is limited by the extension and can be deleted by the user.

2. Google account and Pro entitlement

When a user chooses to purchase Pro or refresh Pro status, Page Capture uses Chrome Identity to obtain a Google OAuth access token. The token is transmitted over HTTPS to the Page Capture entitlement service solely to verify the account with Google. The service does not store the access token or the user’s password. It stores a pseudonymous Google account identifier to associate and restore the user’s one-time Pro entitlement. The extension requests only the openid scope.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Page Capture does not collect or store full payment-card details. Stripe provides transaction identifiers, payment status, and refund status needed to activate or revoke a Pro entitlement.

4. Service providers

These providers process information under their respective privacy policies.

5. Purposes and sharing

Information is used only to provide capture features, remember user settings, process and restore Pro purchases, prevent abuse, handle refunds, maintain service security, and respond to support requests. We do not sell user information, use it for advertising, or share it except with the service providers above when necessary to provide these functions, to comply with law, or to protect users and the service.

6. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on the user’s device until deleted through the extension, removed by the browser, or the extension is uninstalled. Pro entitlement records are retained while the entitlement is provided and as required for transaction, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legal purposes. Users may request deletion of account-linked entitlement information through the support contact below, subject to required transaction-record retention.

7. Security

Information transmitted to the entitlement service is protected using HTTPS. Authentication tokens and payment secrets are not included in the extension package.

8. Children

Page Capture is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the extension or applicable requirements change. The updated date will be shown at the top of this page.

11. Contact
